Fabulous food, what to bring, how to pay
Payments & cancellations
A non-refundable deposit of $550. is due upon booking. If you are registering within six weeks of the retreat the full amount is due upon registration. If you have paid a deposit the balance due will be charged to your credit card on file six weeks prior to the start of the retreat. All funds paid are non-refundable but are transferable to another retreat with us in the future (if cancelled six weeks before the start of the retreat) and good for one year. If cancelled within 6 weeks of the start of the retreat all funds are non refundable and non transferable. Please be aware that a price increase may be incurred if you transfer your funds to a new retreat.
Arrival & Departure Instructions, private Rooms
- Please take advantage of arriving early. Pacifica opens at 8am. You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch and hang out on the lawns. Departure: On the last day teaching ends at around 10:30 or 11:00. You may leave at this time or stay for lunch at 12:15. You can stay as late as 4:30 on campus to just enjoy and integrate your experience. Note: Room check out is 11:30 am.
- Everyone is given a private room. (Twin, Full or Queen) The shared rooms are for couples or 2 friends or family members in a queen bed bedroom. Keys are handed out at 3pm at reception. The first meditation is at 4pm in the Sanctuary and first group meal is at 5:15 pm. There are ground level rooms available for those with mobility issues. Chose an ADA room or Full Bed Bedroom to be on the ground floor.
Bathrooms for twin and full size bed bedrooms are dorm style with individual privacy (separate men's and women's) Bathrooms for queen bed bedrooms: 1 full bathroom to two bedrooms (access in hallway between rooms). Unisex bathrooms are also available.
Room availability: 15 twin, 15 full, 10 queen. Space is limited. Please register early.
- Drugs and alcohol are not allowed.
- In order to provide a deeper retreat for everyone, there are no smart watches, cell phones or computers in the facility or in your room. Please leave them in your car.
Additional Information
- In the unlikely event of a family emergency, your family may call Silent Stay Admin at: 805.329.1553 and we will notify you. EV charging: There is a 110V outlet located in parking lot B (closest to the tall light pole). You may bring an adapter for your vehicle and charge it there.
- Each retreat participant takes personal responsibility for their retreat experience. Pacifica staff are not a part of the retreat and are allowed to speak to perform their duties.
Fabulous food & What to Bring
- Fabulous Food is served by Season's Catering. We can cover all diet types from Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten Free and diets without restrictions. There is a expansive food hallway open day and night for light snacks or drinks.
- Meditation Supplies provided: There are chairs, yoga mats and yoga blankets. Feel free to bring your personal meditation cushions or yoga mats. You may want to have a "dumb" watch or bedside alarm clock (not your phone). There are clocks all around the facility.
- Bathroom Supplies: Bring your own toiletries. Towels are provided but shampoo/conditioner are not.
- Journal: A journal can be a very helpful tool to gather inspirations during your retreat. Any reading material brought with you should be about philosophy, awareness practices, or meditation.
Verbal Silence
- You will be greeted verbally. You can speak to admin or kitchen staff for personal needs (or pass them a note). Otherwise, we are holding verbal silence throughout the retreat period, on the grounds and in your room. There will be an opportunity to speak with the teachers during sessions, or when question and answer periods arise, and at the end of the retreat. Pacifica staff is not a part of the retreat and can speak while performing their duties.
Adjustments to program
- We reserve the right to adjust the program and retreat leader as necessary for the successful operation of the retreat.
- We reserve the right to ask you to leave if you are causing a disturbance.
Is a silent retreat appropriate for me ?
- If you are on medication for psychological issues or experiencing large emotional swings, a silent retreat may not be appropriate. We do not provide counseling or therapy. You can email us before attending for advice.
